Educational Value of Usborne Books
| Experts are consulted and each
subject thoroughly researched to make sure the
information is accurate.
Each subject is presented with unusual clarity and
conciseness.
The text is accompanied by full-color pictures and
diagrams on every page to help one "see", for example,
what a Viking settlement looked like or how an engine
works.
Many "hands-on" projects are presented to allow the
student to "test" the concepts.
Each school subject is covered - from preschool
activities to history, geography, math, science, art,
music, foreign languages, even science dictionaries,
computer guides and hobbies for high school students and
adults.
Puzzles are interspersed to develop problem-solving
skills and improve comprehension.
Our dot-to-dot series is the only one available which
displays a number line with each puzzle.
Questions are asked to stimulate curiosity. |
Usborne is Very
Interactive and Appealing to All Ages
| We have to abandon the idea that
schooling is something restricted to youth. How can it
be, in a world where half the things a man knows at 20
are no longer true at 40 --
and half the things he knows at 40 hadn't been
discovered when he was 20?
~Arthur C. Clarke
With over 1300 titles there is a book for everyone in
every age group from 0 to 99. Though primarily a
children's line of books, Usborne books are also used in
college courses and enjoyed by adults everywhere who
still love to learn. Our computer guides are fantastic!
Visually stunning covers guarantee that these books
will not sit on the shelf! Every page is a feast for the
eyes with lavish, full-color illustrations.
Features borrowed from comic books are sure
attention-grabbers: speech bubbles, hand lettering,
frame by frame sequence.
Although the books use humor and color to enhance
enjoyment of every subject, they are packed with
excellent information.
Kid Kits combine popular books with the "stuff"
needed to use the book: Science with Magnets Kit, Book
of Magic Kit, Juggling Kit, Calligraphy Kit, Find the
Duck Kit, plus many more! They make great gifts!
Usborne Books started with non-fiction books, but now
we carry readers, fiction, puzzle stories, jigsaw
puzzles, finger puppets, maze books, workbooks, learning
wrap-ups and "cut and glue" models to complement the
study of history. (Make a Medieval Castle, Make This
Model Egyptian Mummy, etc...)

Our son with his Usborne
Make This Model Greek Temple.
He constructed this by himself w/o being able to
read!! With Usborne's visual step-by-step instructions,
these Make This Model projects can be constructed by non-readers
- giving them a sense of accomplishment and building their
self-esteem. |

Quality and Affordability
- Acid-free Paper
- Laminated Covers
- Stitched Bindings
- Durable Library Bindings Also Available
- Abundance of Full-Color Illustrations
Though Usborne Books are expensive to make, they are
not expensive to buy because Peter Usborne spreads his
cost over the international market. The customer is
given the choice of a paperback binding or to upgrade to
a library binding, depending on their budget and usage.
The majority of our over 1300 titles are between
$3.95 and $9.95 (80% under $10). When books in a series
are bound together, the resulting Bind-Up will be a more
expensive book, but a savings over buying the books
individually. (Ex: The First Book of Knowledge is a
bindup of 10 books, that if bought individually would be
over $45. The hardcover bindup, however, is only $16.95
which is a savings of over $28!)
